Winter Solstice Half-Day Retreat

As the longest night arrives, we gather in stillness - to rest, to listen, and to honor the dark while welcoming the soft return of light.
Join us for a restorative, heart-centered retreat at The Grief Room, where you’ll move through an intentionally curated journey of reflection, somatic movement, energetic care, and community connection. This half-day retreat is designed to help you ground, release, and integrate the wisdom of the season and be with some pretty awesome humans!

The Experience
Participants rotate in two small groups of six after opening ceremony through four gentle, guided offerings:
Reiki
A restorative energetic immersion with energetic Reiki support to regulate the nervous system, ground the body, and invite deep rest with Anne Campbell & Zeidie Ortiz from Twin Cities Reiki Master.
Tarot Readings
One-on-one intuitive readings offering insight, reflection, and guidance for the season ahead with Melissa Hickman from Shadeflower Studios.
Soma Yoga
Gentle somatic movement to soften tension, awaken presence, and honor the wisdom of your body with Sarah Turino.
Group Acupuncture
Restorative acupuncture for balance, relaxation, and energetic alignment during this season of stillness with Erika Sullivan from Alchemy Grove Acupuncture.
Community Feast
Tea, spiced cider, and light seasonal fare shared — time to gather, reflect, and be nourished together. Participants are welcome to bring a dish to share.
Retreat Flow

3:00–3:20 PM – Arrival and Opening Circle
Participants arrive, settle in with tea, and gather in a gentle circle to mark the beginning of the Winter Solstice journey. We honor the longest night, set intentions, and invite reflection, presence, and connection.
3:20–4:50 PM – First Immersive Rotations
Rotation 1: 3:20–4:05 PM | Rotation 2: 4:05–4:50 PM
Participants move through two carefully curated experiences designed to restore, ground, and awaken the senses. Each session is infused with seasonal energy and symbolism, guiding participants toward inner stillness and connection with the earth and community.
4:50–5:10 PM – Pause for Reflection
A soft pause for journaling, mindful breathing, or gentle movement. This time allows insights and sensations to settle, preparing participants for communal nourishment.
5:10–5:40 PM – Community Feast
A shared table of tea, spiced cider, seasonal snacks, and quiet reflection. This ritual nourishes the body, strengthens community connection, and invites participants to feel grounded and present.
5:40–7:10 PM – Second Immersive Rotations
Rotation 3: 5:40–6:25 PM | Rotation 4: 6:25–7:10 PM
Continue through two more experiences that invite embodiment, insight, and presence. These sessions are intentionally woven with seasonal symbolism, supporting connection to inner rhythms, natural cycles, and the larger flow of the Solstice.
7:10–8:00 PM – Closing Circle & Integration
Gather for a guided closing circle honoring the returning light and the wisdom of the Solstice. Participants leave feeling deeply nourished, restored, and connected — within themselves, to others, and to the earth.ed this experience with.
